Call for Entries | ShootingPortsmouth.com

Twelve images for Shooting Portsmouth 2009 will be chosen from photographers submitting entries. The calendar will be edited, printed, and packaged in the spring of 2008, to be sold in local shops and over the website during the summer and fall until the holidays. Retail price will be about $20.

Eligibility

Anyone with images of local color and light is eligible to submit one or more entries. Each entry must be entirely the original work of the person or persons submitting it.

Subject Matter

Entries can be anything that incorporates photography: Landscapes, nature, people, architecture, abstracts, black and white, and photoshop wizardry, are just a few obvious categories.

A preference is given to local, seasonal, and artful imagery, Images chosen must also be able to carry a block of calendar type somewhere in the image (see samples). Not every photo needs to be recognizable as a "Portsmouth" photograph, whatever that means, and "Portsmouth" generally refers to a Greater Portsmouth.

Photos chosen will be cropped to fit the calendar format and design.

Guidelines

Send full-frame RGB files in JPG format attached to an email. Please limit photos to 3 per email. Include your name, title of the photograph, your email address and phone number. If we need a higher resolution file than what you submit we will contact you. Alternatively, send a link to a web gallery if you have one.

Entry deadline for the 2009 calendar is May 15th, 2008.

Payment

Sorry no cash payment this year, published photographers receive:
- 5 finished calendars retail value $100
- Additional calendars are available to contributors at a wholesale price).
- A month of fame on local shelves and desktops
- A webpage at ShootingPortsmouth.com (for at least one year) featuring your image used in the calendar, a brief "About the photographer" write-up, a direct link to your own website, email address, and other contact info.
- optional deals to retail other Portsmouth photographic products in the shootingportsmouth.com webstore and gallery (eg: prints, posters, cards, books and other printed matter).

Rights

SP seeks calendar rights for the title year, including the right to use your image for promoting the calendar. Photographers retain all other copyright. Submitted photos will not be used for any commercial purpose without the photographer's permission in writing.
